DAVAO CITY – “Prince” Albert Pagara of Maasin City and Carl Jammes “Wonder Boy” Martin of Ifugao beat separate foes in the “Kumbati 7” boxing event held last Dec. 18 at the IPI Compound in Mandaue City.
The 26-year-old Pagara landed more telling blows against Virgil “Strong Man” Puton of Cotabato to score a unanimous decision in the 8-rounder.
Pagara was too clever as he threw his jabs while eluding Puton’s punches.
Puton twice slip while trying to land his jabs in 6th and 8th rounds.
Pagara, who showed some rustiness on his punching improved his record to 33 wins with 23 knockouts against one loss.
Martin, 21, on the other hand, remained undefeated after surviving a brawl with Richard Rosales of Bohol in an 8-rounder.
Martin tried to knock down Rosales many times. But Rosales also showed his veteran moves. Martin, however, remained undefeated with 16 wins and 15 knockouts.
The bubble boxing event was the second time presented by Pio Castillo Jr. of Omega Boxing Promotion
