PAKISTAN'S KARIM WANTS TO END WINNING STREAK OF INDIA'S SINGH IN WSOF-GC 3

PAKISTAN’S Uloomi Karim wants to end the winning streak of undefeated Yadwinder Singh of India in the coming World Series of Fighting – Global Championship (WSOF-GC) on July 30 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
““Yad Singh, I’m coming for you,” said Karim in a recent post-fight interview after dedicating his title to some of his fellow students that had recently been victimized by a terrorist attack in his home country.
Karim, who has finished all five of his professional victories, has five wins against three losses. He won the reigning Underground Battle MMA Bantamweight title earlier this year.
Singh, who is a WSOF Global veteran, is unbeaten with five straight wins. He is currently the #1 ranked flyweight in India and will be welcoming Karim to the 125-pound division. Singh made his debut with WSOF in November 2015 with an impressive victory over a previously unbeaten American and Roger Huerta protégé’ Alex Schild.
Despite the challenge from Karim, and the history between the two nations, there is a mutual respect from both camps. Majid Gilani, from Paksitan’s Team Fight Fortress, recently wrote on social media,
“Although there is animosity between nations, there is no animosity between Team Relentless and TFF as we are all legit martial artists.” Jitendra Khare, from India’s Team Relentless, responded, “I have utmost respect for you and your team. This is a big challenge and we really respect Uloomi and his skills.”
“When you issue a challenge, you had better be prepared to answer when the person you challenged responds,” said Jason Lilly, Vice President of Operations and Matchmaker for WSOF-GC.
“I was very impressed with Uloomi when I saw him fight earlier this year. Calling out someone like Yad shows that he feels he is ready for a big step up in competition,” added Lilly.
“I’m not sure what prompted it, but the despite the mutual respect between the two camps, the tension between those countries is very intense. There will certainly be some blood boiling that night and international pride will be on the line. The 50th year anniversary of the India-Pakistan War of 1965 was recently held.
WSOF-GC Owner, Dunesa Hesser, adds, “We already have one international rivalry fight on the card with Philippines’ Mario Sismundo (3-1) taking on China’s Keremuaili Maimaitituoheti (5-3) in the co-main event. All ten of our scheduled matches showcase competitors facing off against other countries. With the Olympics coming soon, this is a precursor to that with eleven countries represented at our event.”
