Luis “Pantera” Nery is training at a great pace to reappear at home, in Tijuana, on Saturday, June 9, on a card presented by Zanfer, at the Municipal Auditorium of Tijuana, to be broadcast by Azteca 7 for Mexico.
Former World Boxing Council champion, Luis Nery (26-0-0, 20 ko’s), will face Filipino, Jetro Pabustan (29-5-6, 9 ko’s), trying to return to the path of the world championship, which he lost on the scales in Japan. At a press conference, the idol of Tijuana,”Pantera” Nery, enthused he’s thrilled to again be fighting in Tijuana.
“I want to offer another great show to my people, demonstrating that I am the best bantamweight in the world… Many people criticized me for not being able to make weight in Japan. I will come out with the mentality of proving that I am a natural bantamweight, and that I hope to regain my belt fast.”
The undefeated 23-year-old warned that he waits for the green light from the doctor, with discomfort to his left hand, after accidently hitting a sparring partner’s elbow. But he believes that there is no sore point problem at hand.
