Nakhon Sawan, THAILAND — Strawweight (105-pound) World Champion Panya Pradabsri (38-1, 23 KO’s) of Thailand effectively outboxed and dominated fellow Thai, former long-time king Wanheng Menayothin (55-2, 19 KO’s) for a successful second defense of his WBC Strawweight World Title today, Tuesday March 29, in at the City Hall Grounds in Nakhon Sawan, Kingdom of Thailand.

Scores were identical for same tallies of 117-111 (x3), all in favor of the defending champion Panya, who bested his experienced challenger by making fantastic use of his superior boxing skills, slick defensive moves and accurate timing to claim victory today live on Thai national TV.

There were no knockdowns, nor cuts, nor accidental clash of heads in the rumble perfectly handled by world-class Thai referee Dr. Thawuth Pluemsamran.

However, even though Panya appeared in control of the battle, Wanheng did not cease to be a dangerous threat, having his best moment during the heated action of round four in which Wanheng put together a power combination that staggered the monarch, rocking him backwards against the ropes.

Remarkably, Panya regained command of skirmishes in the next chapter, never allowing Wanheng to do something similar again.

In conclusion, Panya, the younger, fresher reigning world champ bested the former ruler Wanheng, who at 36 might no longer be the same unbeatable, superbly talented warrior he once was.

After today’s win, some fans now consider Panya the world’s top 105-pounder, even above fellow Thai, reigning WBA Minimunweight World Champion Thammanoon Niyomtrong.

But Is Panya better than the undefeated Niyomtrong?

There is only one way to know, right?

Luckily, Panya and Niyomtrong are handled by the same Thai promotion company.

Their unification rumble would be absolutely 100% so much welcome by fight fans in this Kingdom where Muay Thai, MMA and boxing are so extremely popular.

Would Panya vs Niyongrong for the unified WBC/WBA minimumweight Title ever happen, perhaps later this year? Let’s cross our fingers.

Today’s interesting Panya vs Menayothin 2 here in Thailand was an event promoted by veteran man of boxing Piyarat Vachirarattanawong of Diamond Boxing in association with CPF.

The action was live in Thailand on True4U TV Channel 24. It was also available live online.
