Mexican Omar “Businessman” Chávez and American Roberto Garcia are ready to step up to the Nuevo Leon Independiente Gymnasium ring in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, this Saturday night to contest the World Boxing Council’s Silver belt.
Omar Chavez (36-3-1, 24 ko’s) will have a difficult test, facing the experienced Roberto Garcia (40-3-0, 24 ko’s) in a great card presented by Zanfer with broadcast by TV Azteca for Mexico and part of the USA.
“I have prepared thoroughly, we know Garcia and he is a strong fighter, dangerous, very experienced. But this is my moment and I will make it very clear in the ring. To be world champion, I have to beat the best, and the first step is win the WBC Silver belt, “said Omar.
Roberto Garcia vowed : “I’m going to ruin the party of Omar. I’ve done it before here in Mexico and in the United States. Boxers like Norberto Gonzalez, Victor Manuel Cayo, Breidis Prescott, Santos Benavidez, James Stevenson and Nestor Garcia just thought I was going to lose, and they were the ones who left the ring with defeats. Exactly the same thing will happen now. There will only be one winner and it’ll be me.”
This Friday both warriors passed the weigh in without problem:
Omar Chávez: 156 lbs
Roberto García: 156 lbs
