A battle between a pair of England’s most dynamic strikers is finally going down inside the Bellator MMA cage.
Bitter rivals Paul Daley and Michael Page will look to settle their differences inside the cage on an upcoming Bellator card on Feb. 16 at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn.
MMAFighting confirmed the initial report from ESPN.
This fight will also serve as a quarterfinal bout in the Bellator Welterweight World Grand Prix. The winner is expected challenge former champion Douglas Lima in the tournament’s semifinals.
Page (13-0), a multiple time kickboxing medalist, forced David Rickels to verbally submit after opening a cut over his left eye at Bellator 200 in his last outing.
Prior to this win, fans saw Page walk away one of the most violent knockouts in combat sports history when he fractured the skull of Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos with a flying knee at Bellator 158. To date, “MVP” has finished 11 of his of his 13 opponents, including eight by way of (T)KO.
Daley (40-16-2), who also boasts a kickboxing record of 21-3, is looking to get back into the win column after coming up short to former UFC title challenger and WSOF champion Jon Fitch in May. Prior to this setback, “Semtex” starched Lorenz Larkin with a thrilling come-from-behind second-round knockout at Bellator 183.
The Nottingham native also holds notable victories over Jorge Masvidal, Martin Kampmann andBrennan Ward while earning 30 of his 40 career victories by (T)KO.
