FORMER world champion Randy “Razor” Petalcorin of the Philippines will clash with Felix “El Gemelo” Alvarado of Nicaragua for the vacant International Boxing Federation [IBF] World light flyweight title on October 29 at the Midas Hotel and Casino in Pasay City.

Petalcorin is seeking his second win for this year with 29 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw while Alvarado is toting 33 wins and 2 losses.

Petalcorin last won against Jade Yagahon via a first round knockout last May 19. He has won six bouts including a unanimous decision against Arnold Garde in their International Boxing Federation [IBF] Pan Pacific light flyweight title fight at the Robinson Mall Atrium.

Alvarado, on the other hand, has been undefeated since 2004 after he suffered two successive setbacks – Kazuto Ioko and Juan Carlos Reveco.

He lost to Ioko during their World Boxing Association [WBA] world light flyweight title fight by a unanimous decision last Dec. 31, 2003. Alvarado then lost again to Reveco by a unanimous decision in their WBA world flyweight title last June 6, 2004.

He made a comeback by a 1st round knockout against Jose Aguilar last Sept. 26, 2004 and has so far been undefeated in 13 bouts.

“The Petalcorin-Alvarado title fight is free to the public”, said Sanman chairman JC Manangquil.
