The featherweights and heavyweights of the Professional Fighters League will soon learn their playoff fates.
On Friday, the league announced its lineup for PFL 4, which takes place at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on July 19 in Long Island, N.Y.
The PFL is using a points-based system to determine who will qualify for their playoffs later in the year, with the winners in each weight class competing for a seven-figure prize. Points are awarded for wins, finishes, and the round in which the fight was finished.
Currently leading the 145-pound division with six points each are Alexandre Almeida and Steven Siler, who both recorded first-round finishes at PFL 1 on June 7. Trailing them are undefeated Long Island native Andre Harrison, former World Series of Fighting champion Lance Palmer, and Timur Valiev. All five fighters will be in action at PFL 4.
Francimar Barroso, Jack May, and Kevin Tiller all recorded six points at PFL 1 to top the heavyweight standings. They will also be competing on July 19.
At the conclusion of PFL 4, the top eight point-getters in the featherweight and heavyweight divisions will advance to a single elimination playoffs. The eventual finalists will compete on Dec. 31 for a division championship and a $1 million prize.
