One more Filipino boxer has assured a podium at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics as Eumir Marcial sets another record and knocks out Armenian opponent, Arman Darchinyan in their Quarter-Final bout for the Men’s Middleweight.
This is the second time Marcial and Darchinyan faced one another after Marcial won over the Armenians in 2018 in Russia.
Marcial earlier defeated Younes Nemouchi of Algeria in a first-round stoppage as Darchinyan dominates Slovakia’s Andrej Csemez to qualify for this Quarter-Final bout.
Marcial is set to face Ukraine’s Oleksandr Khyzhniak on August 5 for the Semi-Final rounds.
