When Paige VanZant took on Jessica-Rose Clark in January 2018, she broke her arm early in the fight and still went the distance in a losing effort.
The UFC women’s flyweight missed the rest of the year due to the fracture, and now just weeks removed from a successful return to the Octagon, it looks like the 24-year-old will be sidelined for awhile once again.
VanZant relayed the bad news to her fans on Twitter late Thursday evening.
Then on her Instagram Stories, she showed the photographic evidence that her arm isn’t shaped the way it’s supposed to be.
VanZant (8-4) is coming off an armbar win over Rachael Ostovich at UFC Brooklyn, which ended a two-fight losing skid. She was scheduled to face Poliana Botelho at UFC 236 on April 13th, but obviously the state of that arm kills that possibility. Botelho is now expected to face Lauren Mueller on that card, as VanZant heals up from her latest injury.
