WBA #6 Lightweight contender Evens Pierre (26-1, 17 KOs) will be facing his toughest test yet against Mexican, two-time World Champion Juan Carlos Salgado (26-6-1, 16 KOs) in Haiti on November 16th. Pierre, nicknamed “The Sun City Kid,” is a Haitian native whose career developed in Panama. He now fights solely in Haiti.

His promoter/manager Jacques Deschamps comments that “Evens is a role-model for kids in Haiti, a hero in his Sun City neighborhood. Fighting a two-time World Champion like Salgado is watershed moment in his career. If everything goes well against Salgado, we are looking at a world title shot next year. This will be momentous in Haiti.”

On the undercard of the Pierre-Salgado fight, IBU World Featherweight Champion, Haitian-American Melissa St Vil will be facing Diana Garcia of the Dominican Republic, a fight which Melissa wants to be a contribution to the victims of Hurricane Matthew.
