FILIPINO boxer Joebert delos Reyes will be fighting for the vacant WBA Oceania super lightweight title on July 2 at the Club Punchbowl in Punchbowl New South Wales.
The 26-year old Delos Reyes, who is based in Gunnedah, New South Wales, Australia, will face Darragh Foley (8 wins-2 loses-0 draw) of Sydney.
Delos Reyes, who is toting 15 wins with 10 knockouts against 6 loses and 1 draw, won the International Boxing Organization (IBO) Youth lightweight champion after he knocked out Valentine Borg in the 5th round on March 28, 2014 at the Club Punchbowl.
However, in his previous outing, Delos Reyes lost by a knockout in 2:34 of the 4th round against George Kambosos Jr. in their battle for PABA lightweight crown held December 12 at the Alexandria Basketball Stadium in Perry Park, New South Wales.
Delos Reyes also bowed to Emmanuel Tagoe by a 4th round TKO for the vacant WBA International lightweight title held last April 24, 2015 at the Accra Sports Stadium in Accra, Ghana.
In his last fight in the Philippines, Delos Reyes scored a first round stoppage against Roland Teofilo in their rematch held February 8, 2014 at the Almendras gym in Davao City.
Their first encounter held in Dipolog City on October 9, 2009 ended up in a technical draw.
Meanwhile, the 27-year old Foley, a southpaw, previously lost by a unanimous decision when he challenged undisputed WBA Oceania lightweight champion Brandon Ogilvie (14-1-0) last March 12 at the Netball Central, Olympic Park in Sydney.
Foley, however, won the Australian lightweight crown by stopping Miles Zalewski only in the first round last November 28 at the Mansfield Tavern in Mansfield, Queensland.
