Local welterweight Mauricio “El Trompas” Pintor (20-2-1, 12 KOs) scored a sixth round TKO over previously unbeaten prospect Fernando “El Cacho” Marin (13-1-3, 9 KOs) on Friday night at the Auditorio Blackberry in Mexico City. Pintor, nephew of famed former world champion and Hall of Famer Lupe Pintor, was in command most the time and got a referee’s stoppage with a barrage of punches. Coming off a three-year layoff, Pintor claimed the vacant WBC Latin welterweight title.
