Former world champion Julio “Pollito” Ceja says he is more than ready for Saturday’s fight in Panama City, where he will land on local Anselmo “Chemito” Moreno in a WBC super bantamweight elimination bout.
Aware that this is the only route leading back to a world crown, the Mexican boxer knows what he’s up against, and what he must do if he wants to progress, with a feather in his cap.
“We are clear that there is only one way to return to the world championship and that is why we must defeat Panamanian Moreno. The fact he’s on home ground cheered on by all his people is not something that scares me, as there’s only going to be me and him in the ring. I do not even pay attention to what happens outside of it.
“I well know what it’s to be world champion. It took many years of really hard work to gain. Accordingly, we want to make history all over again.”
The native of Atizapán de Zaragoza has a record of 30-2-0, 27 KOs, while Anselmo Moreno has 36 victories, 5 losses and 1 draw, with 12 KO´s.
