“Polvorita” Cruz dusts off defeat to shine

Elizabeth “Polvorita” Cruz has corrected some mistakes after her last fight and declares herself ready to return to the path of victory this Saturday when she faced María “Gatita” Martínez in one of the main fights of the “Neza Fight Night.”

It`s presented by Chiquita González Boxing and PHILLIPS – ASSA ABLOY, the best pound-for-pound brand, in Nezahualcóyotl, State of Mexico.

“We are fine, it has involved a lot of preparation time. A very different job and we are doing well physically and mentally for this fight” she said.

Elizabeth Cruz (5-1), who will return to the activity after the setback suffered by Jessica Basulto in April, is sure that she has rectified errors.

“Well, they say that you learn from defeats more than from victories. So, we had a good learning experience and we did that (during preparation), mistakes were corrected, progress was made in many ways. It is going to be a good fight, as I said, we have done a strong preparation, we are going to demand ourselves and do our best to come out with the victory ” she commented.

Like thousands of athletes in Mexico and the world, “Polvorita” struggled with training during the confinement due to Covid-19, but little by little she got into the rhythm, which will she demonstrate the Weekend.

“It has been a bit difficult, when (the pandemic) started it cost us work because the gyms were not open. We did work at home, which is not the same as in the gym. It was hard to get back”
