Far more effective, former WBC Welterweight World Champion Shawn “Showtime” Porter, 146.6, did more than enough to completely outclass previously unbeaten German welterweight Sebastian Formella (22-1, 10 KO’s), 146, today at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, USA.
Scores after 12 rounds were 120-108 (three times) in favor of more talented Porter. The referee was former firefighter officer Jack Reiss.
With the unanimous decision win, the 32-year-old Porter (31-3-1, 17 KO’s) claims the green WBC “Silver” Welterweight belt, and inches closer to a possible new shot at the world title.
The victory also gets the Ohio-native the IBF # 2 world-rank in the hot 147-pound weight class.
The three hottest names in the division are Filipino legend Sen. Manny Pacquiao (62-7-2, 39 KO’s), and unbeaten American world champions Errol Spence (26-0, 21 KO’s) and Terence Crawford (36-0, 27 KO’s).
The fight was watched live on FOX’s “Fight Night.”
Promoter of the event was Premier Boxing Championship (PBC)
