Great expectations, as number one ranked Alexander Povetkin (30-1, 22 KOs), will face the former WBC heavyweight champ and number two ranked Bermane Siverne (25-2-1, 21 Kos) on December 17th, at the Ekaterinburg Expo, Russia.
This great event has an added edge of incentive, as the WBC interim heavyweight title is the line and up for grabs. The winner will fight the absolute champion, American Deontay Wilder (37-0, 36 KOs) in 2017.
Povetkin comes from defeating the tough warrior Mariusz Wach by KO in the 12th rounds. While Stiverne defeated Derric Rossy by UD in 10 rounds.
Alexander looks like the great favourite. However it would be a grave error to underestimate the tough, powerful, hard hitting and very determined fighter, embodied in Stiverne, as he has proved his capabilities and is willing himself to do just that, all over again.
