Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta saluted World Boxing Council super bantamweight champion Fatuma Zarika, who recently defended her belt by defeating Zambian Catherine Phiri, in a stellar fight.
President Kenyatta presented official recognition to outstanding citizens, at an event held at the Government House. Others honoured were: journalist Victor Muyakane who saved a disabled man from a swarming bee attack and Police Officer James Chege, who was involved in heroic rescues during the torrential floods that hit the country.
Zarika has become a local hero for her great dedication and example outside and inside the ring, in addition to becoming the first national to win the title of the World Boxing Council.
