Presscon for Pacquiao vs Buakaw Friday in Bangkok

On Friday, July 21, will take place the first presscon promoting the exhibition “fight” of boxing super star 8-division world champion Manny Pacquiao against retired 41-year-old former Muay Thai star Buakaw (บัวขาว) set for January 2024 in Thailand.

Fightnews ASIA will attend the presscon for “Match of Legend,” set to take place at the plush ICON SIAM in Bangkok at 4 PM (Thailand Time UTC +7).

The exhibition fight will unfold as a boxing match, the modality which Manny Pacquiao, an experienced boxer legend has the total advantage.

Buakaw has never before done boxing.

The presscon is set to reveal questions in fans minds such as how many rounds, how many minutes per round, the venue, who will be their third man, how much the tickets, how much the PPV, and perhaps how much money the two stars will make, which is obviously a lot.

The promoter for the show is Thai former radio talk show host and actor Vinij Lertratanachai, of “Fresh Air Festival.”

It has been reported by promoter that both, Pacquiao and Buakaw will be present at the presscon, and that official contracts will be signed there.

Manny’s “opponent,” Kuakaw, has acted in TV and in movies such as “Yamada: The Samurai of Ayothaya.”

Pacquiao too has appeared on the screen in productions such as “Show Me Da Manny,” and Wapakman.

Recently, Pacquiao, a former presidential candidate in his native Philippines, a lost a legal battle with the company Paradigm Sports Management, a company that represents superstar Conor McGregor.

The reason was a 2021 breach of contract lawsuit that Paradigm filed against “Pacman.” The court saw Pacquiao guity, ordering him to pay USD $ 5.1 million dollars (PHP 288,000,000 Filipino Pesos) to McGregor.
