All healed from the cuts collected in his last fight when he won the WBC Latino Bantamweight crown, Carlos “Principe” Cuadras is planning to stay busy, so he can challenge for the Absolute Crown, which is still vacant.
At the Canelo jamboree, Carlos confirmed that he`s on the hunt for a fight in December, and if that doesn`t happen, asap in the New year. Not exactly a huge super flyweight champion, and now a rather slender bantam, Carlos insists there`s isn`t that much difference between the two divisions, which are separated by just three pounds in weight. He says bantamweight is a division he knows well as he won the WBC Americas title by KO, back in 2012. He also mentioned he’d really fancy a fight against Silver Champion Luis Nery.
WBC Female flyweight champion Ibeth “Roca” Zamora is aiming to fight in the second week of November against an opponent yet to be named. Already well advanced in training, she says she`s practically got another month to be ready and in top shape. Ibeth who`s won WBC crowns at three weights says she`s keen to unify her flyweight belt and then to take on Lupita Martinez in the next division. Quiet and reserved outside boxing, mild mannered Ibeth describes her “Hyde” transformation on fight nights as the concentration of stress and the essence of adrenaline, so much so that she hardly recognizes herself when she views her fight night films.
Former WBC super featherweight champion Francisco Vargas says he`s awaiting negotiation for a fight against wunderkind Eduardo “Rocky” Hernandez to decide who fights the winner between current champion Miguel “Alacran” Berchelt, and mandatory challenger Miguel “Mickey” Roman. He compliments Rocky as talented and powerful and smiled as he said: “Well let`s see what will happen. People know when I fight it`ll be a spectacular. Two WBC Fights of the Year. The fans identify me for exciting bouts.”
