The winner of the clash between World Boxing Council  interim super lightweight champion, Regis Prograis and his challenger Juan Jose Velasco, scheduled for July 14, will enter the 140-pound edition of the second season of the World Boxing Super Series tournament.

Prograis, 29 (21-0, 18 KOs), won the WBC 140-pound Interim World Championship last March, with a sensational second-round TKO victory over former champion Julius Indongo of Namibia.

“My biggest asset is the hunger to be the best, I want to show everyone that I’m the finest  at 140 pounds,” said Prograis.

The undefeated southpaw is confident that he will take part in the tournament: “I am definitely excited to enter the tournament. This  is great for boxing, and I’m ready to defeat any opponent.”

Velasco (20-0, 12 KO) from Buenos Aires, Argentina, will challenge the Interim WBC Super Lightweight Champion in New Orleans, Louisiana, on July 14.
