Jarrell Miller’s co-promoter Dmitriy Salita, a former fighter who knows a thing or two about how to build up a record and get into a world title fight, is heavily hyping Miller for a potential showdown with Anthony Joshua, calling “Big Baby” America’s best heavyweight.
“I feel that Jarrell is the best American heavyweight in the world. … Jarrell has shown his desire to fight the best available champions and contenders. The key word here is available. We’re going to go wholly to that plan, that formula, fighting the best available fighters in the world.”
Miller (23-0-1, 20 KO) is receiving familiar “American heavyweight” hype, and while it’s clear he can fight — I mean, he’s not blowing through actual contenders, but at least he is dominating the guys he’s fighting — there’s a lot left to prove.
But with some smart promotion and TV exposure, he’s definitely made a name for himself as a rising contender, and he knows how to talk up a fight. Miller is a charismatic guy, has put himself in position for these discussions, and he fights regularly. The big man went 3-0 this year, beating Johann Duhaupas, Tomasz Adamek, and Bogdan Dinu.
Current plans, according to Salita, are to get Miller back “in the early part of next year.”
