Puton suffers first loss by TKO

DAVAO CITY — Featherweight Ariel “Jodda” Puton of Gen. Santos City suffered his first loss by a technical knockout in the 2nd round to Lian Wilson of Australia last July 27 at the Luna Park in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.It was Puton’s first loss after five wins while Wilson posted his fourth straight victory.Puton earlier won the vacant LuzProba featherweight title by retirement over Jeson Berwela of Camarines Norte in the 7th round last Dec. 28 in Muntinlupa City.The 23-year old Wilson earlier beat Brent Rice of Australia by unanimous decision to win the Australian super featherweight title in Brisbane last Nov. 30.
