The promotion announced on Monday that middleweight champion Rafael Carvalho will fight Gegard Mousasi at Bellator 200, scheduled for May 25 at the SSE Arena. The main card will also feature unbeaten welterweight Michael Page versus David Rickels.
According to a source, the event will be tape-delayed for U.S. audiences Friday night.
Carvalho (15-1), who rides a 15-fight winning streak, defended the 185-pound championship twice in 2017, knocking out Melvin Manhoef and Alessio Sakara in Italy.
Mousasi (43-6-2) earned a shot at the Bellator gold after defeating former champion Alexander Shlemenko via decision in his promotional debut in October. He won five in a row in the UFC, including four knockouts, before jumping over to Bellator.
Page (12-0) hasn’t fought in MMA since Nov. 2016, when he scored a decision victory over Fernando Gonzalez. “MVP”, who won three fights that year, is 8-0 under the Bellator banner.
Rickels (19-4, 2 no-contests), a Bellator tournament winner and one-time title challenger, is coming off back-to-back wins over Aaron Derrow and Adam Piccolotti in 2017.
