Rashad Evans will return at middleweight, and he’ll do it in Mexico City. The former UFC light heavyweight champion hasn’t had the best go of things over the past few years, but he’ll look to turn things around when he meets Sam Alvey at UFC Fight Night 114 on August 5th in Arena Mexico.
UFC Espanol was the first to report the news.
Evans (19-6-1, 14-6-1 UFC) has lost three bouts in a row, with the last coming in his middleweight debut against Daniel Kelly at UFC 209 in March. He has won just two fights in the last five years overall.
Alvey (30-9, 1 NC, 7-4 UFC) had a four-fight winning streak halted at the hands of Thales Leites last month in Nashville. He is currently ranked at number 14 at middleweight in the official UFC rankings.
UFC Fight Night 114 will be headlined by a flyweight bout between Sergio Pettis and Brandon Moreno.
