Golden Boy prospect Rashidi Ellis will return to the ring on Friday, June 29, when he faces Alberto Mosquera in a Golden Boy Boxing on ESPN main event from Cancun, Mexico.

Ellis (19-0, 13 KO) is a 25-year-old welterweight and has put together a solid run in the last couple of years, scoring notable wins over Eddie Gomez and John Karl Sosa. He last fought on March 24, beating Fidel Monterrosa in Puerto Rico.

“I’m excited to fight for the first time in Mexico on a card of international proportions and televised on ESPN,” said Ellis.”My opponent this time, Alberto Mosquera, has a lot of experience because he has fought a lot of good fighters. All of this is double motivation for me because a victory against him will be very important.”

Mosquera (25-3-2, 16 KO) is a 31-year-old veteran from Panama, winner of three straight. He’s been stopped in all of his losses, against Charlie Navarro and Sammy Vasquez in 2014, and Brian Nahuel Zarza in 2016.

Ellis-Mosquera is set for 10 rounds.

In the co-feature, super bantamweights Francisco Horta (17-3-1, 10 KO) and David Reyes (17-3-1, 6 K) will meet in an eight-round bout.
