ESPN’s August 25th doubleheader in Glendale, Arizona is good to go. WBO champions Ray Beltran and Isaac Dogboe will defend their respective titles against Jose Pedraza and Hidenori Otake at Gila River Arena.
Beltran (35-7-1, 21 KO), who gritted his way past Paulus Moses for the lightweight belt this past February, was originally set to face Roman Andreev in his first defense, but the Russian pulled out with appendicitis. This opened the door for former super featherweight champion Pedraza (24-1, 12 KO), making his third appearance at the weight after his TKO loss to Gervonta Davis prompted him to move it.
Dogboe (19-0, 13 KO) has enjoyed a banner 2018 so far with impressive stoppages of Cesar Juarez and Jessie Magdaleno. Finishing the iron-tough Otake (31-2-3, 14 KO) would be quite the feat, though, so we should get to see how “Royal Storm” does against someone who can handle his power.
