THE RED Boxing International owned by Filipino producer-manager
Rey “Cacoi” Rodis II has now acquired a Mexican boxer under its management.
He is super flyweight Jorge Perez, who has a record of eight wins with four knockouts but also has five losses and one draw already.
But despite Perez’ record, Rodis took the 20-year old Mexican-American to his fold.
“RED Boxing is building a name for its self. The best way to show our capabilities is to make winners out of these kids,” said Rodis.
Rodis, who is based in Los Angeles, California has already two Filipino fighters Recky “The Terror” Dulay and Rey “The Technician” Perez.
They are training at the Santa Cruz Gym under Filipino trainers Emil Romano and Jules Tagalog
“Why am I acquiring Mexican fighters? I’m giving opportunity to fighters regardless of their race, color or ethnicity” said Rodis.
After scoring four straight wins, Perez bowed to Max Ornelas by a unanimous decision last year at the Downtown Las Vegas Event Center in Las Vegas.
He bounced back with two straight victories. He first won a unanimous decision against Carlos Apodaca last April 27 at the Escape Bar, Tijuana. Perez then previously stopped in the second round Francisco Amaro at the same venue last June 22. LITO DELOS REYES
