THE second edition of “The Redemption” boxing series will be held on November 25 at 6 p.m. at the University of Mindanao Gym in Tagum City.
“This will be a bigger card featuring foreign boxers against our best fighters from Mindanao,” said boxing promoter Engr. Jilson Basang of MB Northstar Boxing Promotion.
It is co-promoted by the Ratim Sports Promotion.
It will be featuring the newly-crowned MinProBA champions super bantamweight Glenn “The Rock” Porras and super flyweight Michael “The Chieftain” Bravo and reigning Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) lightweight champion Rosekie “Kapre” Cristobal.
Porras and Bravo are both fresh from capturing their respective MinProBA titles during the inaugural presentation of “The Redemption” held last September 15 at the Antonio Floirendo Gym in Panabo City.
Porras, a former MinProBA bantamweight title-holder landed solid combinations and scored a knockdown in the first round to force former MinProBA super flyweight champion Dingdong Quinones to quit during the rest period of the second canto.
Porras, a native of M’lang, North Cotabato now has 30 wins with 18 knockouts against 6 losses and no draw.
Bravo (12W-1-0, 5 KOs), a native from Kidapawan City also pummeled to submission Armando Yee in the second round to win the vacant MinProBA super flyweight title.
Cristobal, on the other hand, also won last Sept. 15 in Panabo by scoring a hard-earned unanimous decision against the hard-fighting Jovany Rota of Bukidnon.
Cristobal, who fought Rota in a heavier division (140 lbs.) and not in his usual weight (135 lbs.) is now toting 14 wins with 10 knockouts against two defeats.
