THE official weigh-in of the fighters for “The Redemption” boxing event will be held on Nov. 24 at 10 a.m. at the Tagum Trade Center in Tagum City.
This was announced by boxing promoter Engr. Jilson Basang of MB Northstar Boxing Promotions.
“It will be followed by a motorcade around the city of Tagum” said Basang, also president of the Mindanao Professional Boxing Association (MinProBA).
The weigh-in will be supervised by WBC Asia Boxing Council supervisor Ralph Diokno, who will be assisted by Games and Amusements Board (GAB) Davao Officer-in-Charge Arlene Olondrez and MinProBA supervisor Lito delos Reyes.
The boxing card, which has five separate championship bouts is slated this Saturday, Nov. 25 at 5 p.m. at the UM Gym in Tagum City. It is co-promoted by Raul Timogtimog of RATIM Sports Promotion.
The main event is the title fight for the vacant WBC Asia Boxing Council super bantamweight title between MinProBA super bantamweight champion Glenn ‘The Rock” Porras (30W-6L-0D, 18 KOs) of Panabo City and former PABA bantamweight and Indonesia Boxing Association 3-division champion Noldi Manakane (32W-22L-2D, 18 KOs) of Indonesia.
Reigning Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) lightweight champion Rosekie Cristobal (14W-2L-OD, 10 KOs) of Panabo will be defending his crown against Romeo Jakosalem (18W-15L-1D, 10 KOs) of Davao City in the main supporting match.
Current MinProBA light flyweight king Michael “The Chieftain” Bravo (12W-1L-0D, 5 KOs) of Panabo will face Lyster Jun “The Silent Penetrator” Pronco (9W-15L-1D, 6KOs) of Malaybalay, Bukidnon for the vacant interim PBF light flyweight crown.
The other championships are both in the MinProBA.
Jovany “The Miner” Rota (9W-12L-0D, 6KOs) of Davao City will fight Alvin Makiling (10W-14L-4D, 3 KOs) of Cagayan de Oro for the vacant super lightweight title while former super featherweight title-holder Holly Quinones (3W-8L-1D, 1KO) of Sarangani takes on JP Macadumpis (11W-10L-1D, 5KOs) of Gen. Santos City for the vacant featherweight title.
The curtain raiser is a 4-rounder between flyweights Junrey Namion and Dave Barlas.
Tickets are pegged at P200 with the proceeds to be used for the charity projects of the Maco Golden Valley Eagles Club and the Tagum Cirque of Shooters Inc.
