Reigning downpour! Amanda and Yamileth ready for an extraordinarily ferocious war!

On August 29, boxing fans will witness one of the most spectacular fights of the year, when two acclaimed WBC champions do a star turn in a real-reeling war, involving WBC featherweight champion Amanda Serrano and super bantamweight champion Yamileth Mercado.

Both champions were special and very welcome guests on the traditional WBC weekly press conference, to swop thoughts prior to punches, in the co-feature fight of the PPV card topped by Jake Paul Vs Tyron Woodley.

Amanda, who took off her sparring headguard to take part enthusing that she expects a great war, removing all doubts in the ring. Yet…simultaneously acknowledging and lauding the boxing quality of her opponent, praising Yamileth’s bravery and sheer audacious vim, because despite not being her natural division, she`s stepping up and has readily accepted the fight, which other well-qualified featherweight boxers have evasively rejected.

For Amanda this is a demanding fight of strategy and even though she knows that she comes into it as the favorite, Amanda isn`t carefree or overconfident, which is why she has put all her focus and energy into her training camp.

Before returning to her sparring session, Amanda stated that, despite respecting her rival, she will not hesitate to defend what`s hers.

Now, it was the turn of Yamileth Mercado, who`s relishing a GREAT challenge which she herself has sought out, since she recognized that Amanda Serrano is one of the best women’s boxing banners and that peaks her own motivation, further boosting her ambition.

Yamileth, who is always been characterized as undaunted, isn`t overawed or afraid of any challenge, assuring that she`s at the peak of her career, welcoming this unexpected opportunity, following a change of team, joining ranks with Jackie Nava.

She is concentrating mainly on technique, because she knows that this is where she must polish to shine and in so doing gain victory. This has involved a meticulously careful and thorough toothcomb study of Amanda’s boxing techniques, designed to identify strengths and exploit weaknesses.

Aware of the great commitment she faces, Yamileth characteristically and positively stressed that she has nothing to lose, but everything to gain. And ever since the fight was confirmed she has been visualizing herself as the winner. The fighter who will make history and revolutionize boxing feminine, because this very night, when she will dethrone the best pound for pound right now.

At this point and having listened to the views of the two Green and Gold Champions, their promoter Lou DiBella declared and underlined that this fight will be historic and will mark a new course for women’s boxing. He made a special point of thanking Jake Paul, who insisted on this glittering co-starring event fought by women and Jake fought tenaciously to help secure them an excellent payday, which is so worthy of their talents.
