Two-division UFC champion Amanda Nunes will apparently defend her bantamweight title in May.

Just over month after knocking out then-women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg, Nunes’ next fight is being lined up. According to Combate’s report, the UFC is working to book the ‘Lioness’ against Holly Holm at UFC 237. This news comes just one day after Dana White said Holm vs. Aspen Ladd was not happening at UFC 235.

Currently on an eight-fight winning streak, Amanda Nunes (17-4) hasn’t lost a fight since September 2014, when she suffered her only Octagon loss, which came via TKO to Cat Zingano. Afterwards, the 30-year-old scored wins over notable names such as Miesha Tate, Ronda Rousey, Valentina Shevchenko (twice) and Cris Cyborg.

With two wins in her last six bouts, Holly Holm (12-4) will try to make it two in a row following a unanimous decision victory over Megan Anderson back in June 2018. Meanwhile, “The Preacher’s Daughter” suffered losses to the likes of Miesha Tate, Valentina Shevchenko, Germaine de Randamie, and Cris Cyborg. Holm’s last fight (and win) at bantamweight came in June 2017, when she knocked out Bethe Correia.

Also according to the same report, Nunes’ fiancee, Nina Ansaroff, is expected to take on undefeated prospect Tatiana Suarez at the same card. UFC 237 will take place in Curitiba, Brazil, on May 11. The co-main event is a strawweight title bout between Rose Namajunas and Jessica Andrade.
