Undefeated whirlwind Rey Vargas swept into the WBC weekly conference to shoot the breeze about his weekend demolition derby of ex world champion veteran Venezuelan Alexander Munoz.
Yet the future focus is firmly and directly on WBC super bantamweight champion, Hugo Ruiz. For Rey, who’s the division’s mandatory, winning this fight secures him to clash with the winner of Ruíz vs Hasegawa , who will be clashing on September 16 in Osaka, Japan.
Vargas who was weekend supreme, commented Muñoz was not an easy opponent especially in the first couple of rounds but his training camp and strength allowed him powerfully prevail. He’s looking to his title challenge, some time in December.
