CURRENT Philippine female flyweight champion Carleans “Chay” Rivas will fight against Japanese Chaoz Minowa for the vacant Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) female flyweight crown on December 13 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
Rivas has a record of five wins against three losses and three draws while Minowa is still undefeated with two straight wins all by knockouts.
The 27-year old Rivas previously scored a unanimous decision win against Lady Love Sampiton last February 20 to capture the PH title at the Taguig Sports Complex.
But before that, Rivas bowed to Tamao Ozawa by a UD in her first fight in Japan last September 16.
Rivas first bowed to Sampiton by a majority decision in their initial title-fight held September 27, 2014 at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall in Pasay City.
She also lost to Jessebelle Pagaduan by a 3rd round technical knockout in their battle for the vacant title held July 27, 2013 in Paranaque City.
Minowa, on the other hand, first knocked out Khwunchit Khunya in the 3rd round during her debut last Sept. 21 in Korakuen Hall.
The 29-year old orthodox fighter then stopped Chan Mi Lim also in the 3rd round on October 9 at the Lake Park in Sejong, South Korea.
The championship fight is promoted by Reason Promotions and sanctioned by the Japan Boxing Commission.
Pitted in the main event is a non-title fight between WBO World female atomweight champion Nao Ikeyama (17-3-2-4 KOs) against former WBA World female atomweight champion Ayaka Miyao (21-6-1-5 KOs).
