Saitama, Japan – Seven decisions, three knockouts, and one submission with eight Mixed Martial Arts and three kickboxing fights completed Rizin Fighting Federation 22 on September 27 at the Saitama Super Arena.
Juri Ohara and Mutsuki Ebata opened the night with big unanimous decisions each against Yusuke Yachi in MMA and Rasta in a kickboxing bout respectively while Tsuyoshi Sudario made a statement in his debut as the Doctors stopped the fight into the very first round of his heavyweight MMA bout against Dylan James of New Zealand.
MMA veteran Takahiro Ashida showcased the first submission of the night when he submitted Kyohei Hagiwara via a modified hammerlock just seconds into finishing the first round for the featherweight category.
Female superstar Rena Kubota displayed yet another spectacular performance in the women’s strawweight category against fellow star Emi Tomimatsu to convince the judges and take home a unanimous win as Kenta Takizawa’s routine edged out Yuto Hokamura to bag a split decision both in the MMA divisions.
Taishi Hiratsuka maneuvered a left hook to take out fellow Japanese Yuki Kitagawa seconds into the second round of their kickboxing bout scheduled for 3 rounds.
Takasuke Kume and Koji Takeda both stressed strong finished to clinch a double split decision wins against Satoru Kitaoka and Yuki Kawana respectively while Kai Asakura inched his 3rd for a 3-win fight streak against Shoji Maruyama in just 37 seconds into the first round of their MMA bantamweight bout.
Two months after a 1st round knock-out win in his July fight and 9 months after another 1st round knock-out win, Tenshin Nasukawa has done it again scoring a unanimous decision this time against Koji Tanaka in this Rizin’s headline event in a catchweight kickboxing showdown.
Rizin FF, owned by Nobuyuki Sakakibara had had four events since February this year and will announce the next fight calendar soon.
