ROCK HARDENED “GEM” AGAINST “THE KID”

World Boxing Council light flyweight champion, Mexico’s Esmeralda “Joya” Moreno will defend her crown against Quintana Roo Yesenia “La Niña” Gomez, on Saturday May 19th   in sun dappled Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo.

Esmeralda, who snatched the 108-pound crown from Ibeth “Roca” Zamora in an all out slugging war grimly declared: “It took me four long years to re-conquer my belt, which belongs to my family, my daughter and my coach who were always with me. I know it’s a very difficult fight because  I’m now in the position of giving a new generation their chan I was once in their place and I know that makes them very dangerous opponents!

“It is an honor and a distinction to receive this opportunity to defend my title.  I have never been over confident against any rival.  I know full well that she wants to take away the championship, but she WON`T!”

The event will be a production of Promociones del Pueblo, in association with Cancun Boxing by Pepe Gómez and Boxing Time by Memo Rocha, with the support of Cavall Sport and Playboy México.
