Following her resounding unanimous decision victory over Isabel Millán last Saturday, Ibeth “Roca” Zamora chipped in, by stressing that this will crystallize a new challenge in her career…namely conquering the green and gold title in the flyweight division.
WBC flyweight Champion and Diamond Champion Yessica Chavez, is up next for Roca who’s earned her place as official challenger. They’ve already fought twice (2008 and 2014) with Roca victorious on both occasions.
Yet Roca isn’t resting on her laurels because Kika has skillfully demonstrated an enormous and prodigious boxing growth.
No date or venue yet for this third encounter, however Roca is keen to stay sharp with a fight before year end or early in 2018.
World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaimán expressed admiration for women’s boxing and especially Ibeth Zamora, who throughout her career has proven to be an honest, loyal disciplined and dedicated fighter.
He said it would be great for the Kika Vs Roca fight to be in either Texas or Los Angeles, in order to further open up the US market to Mexican women fighters.
