Rey (29-0, 22 KOs) against Ronny (28-1, 13 Ko´s) looks like a sizzler, even though Ronny was knocked out in five rounds by Robinson Castellanos in a super featherweight bout, October 10, 2014 in Indio, California.
“I’m excited to defend my world championship for the first time on this special night at the StubHub Center,” said Rey, who was crowned last February by defeating Gavin McDonell in a bout for the WBC super bantamweight belt.
“I know that Ronny Ríos is an extremely difficult challenger, but he has never faced power like mine. And I feel confident that I will come out with the victory,” confidently stressed the world champion, who’s based in Otumba, State of Mexico.
“This is a dream come true for any boxer. Now is the exact time, and I am ready to capitalize upon my work and all my coach’s efforts. I’ve worked for this all my life and I’m grateful for the opportunity,” earnestly said Rios, who has been NABF and WBC Silver Champion.
