Hugo “Cuatito” RUiz is in the final countdown phase for first defense of his World Boxing Council super bantamweight title, on September 16th in Osaka, Japan, against local challenger and former world champion, Hozumi Hasegawa.
“Cuatito” Ruiz is engrossed in the toughest chapter of his training in Guadalajara, with his coach Rafael Guzman, who devised a meticulous and grueling gym work regime , which helped him to win the title in a rematch at Anaheim, California.
In a rare breather, the world champion said that his preparation goes smack bang according to work ethic plan, highlighting the strong sparring sessions that he’s fighting his way through.
“We are in the last weeks of preparation and every day I feel stronger. We’ll be ready, physically and mentally to go to win in Japan.”
Hugo will come to this fight with a record 36-3, 32 knockouts, while Hasegawa has record of 35-5, 15 knockouts.
