RUMBLE IN MALABON ON MAY 20

THE Highland International Boxing Promotion in cooperation with the K2 Boxing Gym is presenting the “Rumble in Malabon” boxing show on May 20 at 5 p.m. at the Dampa sa Paseo in Malabon City.
Pitted in the main event is a 10-rounder between former Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) super featherweight champion Allan “The Leopard” Tanada of Highland Boxing Gym from La Trinidad, Benguet and Jerope “Nino de Oro” Mercado of Mercado Boxing Stable from Cavite.
Tanada is toting 14 wins with six knockouts against six losses and three draws while Mercado has 27 wins, nine losses, three draws and nine knockouts.
Tanada previously won a technical knockout against Indonesian Roy Mukhlis in Indonesia while Mercado scored his last victory via a unanimous decision over Jomar Ministerio in Iligan City.
The main supporting bout will have Luzon Professional Boxing Association (Luzproba) bantamweight champion KJ Natuplag also of Highland against Nestor Junio of Guno Boxing Stable from Batangas City.
Natuplag won the Luzproba title by a split decision against Bryan Tamayo last November 5 in Benguet State University while Junio had a majority draw with Jerry Canada last April 19 in Banaue Gym, Ifugao.
Five 4-rounders will also be featured in the undercard – Romeo Tenorio of United Boxing Gym-La Trinidad vs. Gringo Navarro of Prospected Gym-Baguio City (108 lbs.); Bryan Tamayo of K2 Boxing Gym-Malabon City vs. Orlandino Sinaloba of KPS Boxing Gym-Surigao Sur (108 lbs.); Jose Roda Jr. of K2 Boxing Gym vs. Janie Canoy of Fist & Feet Boxing Gym-Sta. Cruz, Manila (133 lbs.); Rudmer Diocades of K2 Boxing Gym vs. Aron Lozano of Fist & Feet Boxing Gym (112 lbs.); Mel Fajardo of MP-Highland Gym-Manila vs. Joel Ramos of Fist & Feet (107 lbs.).
The boxing card is promoted by Brico Santig of Highland International Boxing Promotions with Mark Jhon Canisio as the matchmaker.
