World Boxing Council straw-weight champion, German Tina Rupprecht, successfully defended her title by defeating former world champion Katia Gutiérrez, from Mexico by split decision, at the Hydrotech ice rink in Königsbrunn, in Bayern, Germany.
The fight was highly competitive with both fighters using fast combinations. However, the champion was the one that forced the pace, which won her the victory on two scorecards, 97-93 and 96-94, while the other scored 96-94 in favor of the Mexican.
Until now, Rupprecht was unable to defend her title due to the pandemic. And with this Saturday’s victory, she improved her record to 11-0-1, with 3 knockouts, and managed to defend her crown for the third time.
