The WBC “Interim” lightweight champion Ryan Garcia has publicly stated that he will return on April 2, “most likely in Las Vegas,” against an opponent TBA.

There is expectation for the return of Garcia, who has been away from the ring for too long due to mental health problems.

His promoter Oscar De La Hoya has said that he will be announcing Ryan’s next fight very soon. However a till nothing official from Golden Boy Promotions.

“My career resumes on April 2. It should be in Los Angeles or Las Vegas, most likely Las Vegas,” shares Ryan.

“So, I am looking forward to the announcement of the fight, my opponent and so on…

“The thing about 2022 is that I have to focus on getting at least three fights this year.

“I can’t worry if I’m making money on social media and all that, because if I’m a great fighter, the money will come in. You know what I mean?” Garcia said on Youtube.

It was rumored that Garcia (21-0, 18 KOs) would battle Mexican former world title challenger Isaac Cruz.
But the negotiation of that potential match never moved forward.

“Pittbull” Cruz put on a tremendous performance in the ring this past December in Los Angeles as he attempted to dethrone WBA lightweight world champion Gervonta Davis.

“The perks that I have, it’s given me the freedom to not have to be desperate for fights, and I don’t have to be desperate for promoters, or anyone, because I make enough money (on social media) outside of my fights,” Ryan said.

“Obviously the downside is that people don’t give me credit for what I do. But I feel like, with my experience as an amateur, and now as a professional fighter myself, I feel like I’ve done enough to prove to myself that I’m one of the best fighters in the world and I’m going to prove that I’m the best fighter in my world.”

Ryan Garcia already has a full year of inactivity.

He last fought on January 2, 2021, in Dallas, Texas, when he defeated Luke Campbell by seventh-round TKO to capture the WBC Interim Lightweight World Championship.

“I was dealing deep within myself.
“Anyone who knows boxing knows that if you’re not there 100% mentally, you’re not going to be there 100% physically.

“You could die in the ring.

“So I took it very seriously and obviously decided to take that break. I feel great coming back. I am picking up where I left off. I feel great.

Finally, “Kingry” Ryan Garcia promises to fans:
“I’m going to come back just as strong, powerful, and when those knockouts come, I guarantee everyone will shut up and it will be as if nothing happened.”
