UFC welterweights Ryan LaFlare and Alex Oliveira will square off in New York.
A pair of welterweights has been added to the next New York card, as Newsday reported Ryan LaFlare will take on Alex Oliveira at UFC on FOX 25.
New York’s own Ryan LaFlare (13-1) will try to make it three in a row, having defeated both Roan Carneiro and Mike Pierce by unanimous decision in his last two outings. His sole loss came by unanimous decision when he was outgrappled by Demian Maia, in a March 2015 main event. Before that, LaFlare had a four-fight winning streak in the UFC.
On a three-fight winning streak, Alex Oliveira (17-3-1(2 NCs)) submitted Tim Means with a rear-naked choke in his last outing in a rematch for their first encounter, which ended in a No Contest due to illegal knees thrown by Means. Before that, Oliveira also defeated former Bellator lightweight champion Will Brooks, as well as James Moontasri. His last loss was a first-round submission to Donald Cerrone in February 2016.
UFC on FOX 25 takes place at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, Long Island, New York. The card will be headlined by former middleweight champion Chris Weidman and rising contender Kelvin Gastelum.
