Ryoichi Taguchi will try to demonstrate once again, why he has been the World Boxing Association King of the 108 lbs. The Japanese will defend his belt against Colombian Robert Barrera in his country on Sunday and his objective is to remain as King of the most prestigious organization in the world.
The Japanese will fight a younger opponent who is eager to snatch his belt, so he faces the difficult test to stay at the top. However, it is not the first time that Taguchi has a difficult match, as he has had to fight several of the best rated boxers of the WBA and has won well in all the fights since he won the title on December 31, 2014.
Ever since, the champion has defended his title in 5 occasions, winning four of them, and one draw against Venezuelan Carlos Canizalez. Taguchi has fought all his life in Japan and has managed to achieve his fame worldwide thanks to his quality boxing and the caliber of his opponents.
The Japanese have a record of 25 wins, only two falls and two draws. At age 30 he is among the best and plans to win again against the dangerous Colombian, whom will fight on Sunday at the General Gym Ota-City, Tokyo.
