Sabina Mazo will have to wait a little more for her shot at an LFA belt.
The Colombian fighter was originally scheduled to take on Silvana Juarez for the vacant women’s flyweight belt in the main event of Friday’s LFA 35. However, due to Juarez’s issues of getting into the U.S., Mazo’s 125-pound title bout has been canceled.
The promotion revealed the news to MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani on Monday.
A 160-pound catchweight bout between Nick Newell and Sonny Luque will now serve as the new main event of LFA 35.
Mazo has been rescheduled to fight for the vacant flyweight belt, but this time with a new date and opponent. The 20-year-old prospect will take on Shannon Sinn at LFA 37 on April 20 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Mazo is 4-0 in her MMA career, including two impressive head-kick knockout victories, while Sinn is 5-5 as a professional fighter.
