JAPANESE featherweight champion Ryo Sagawa of Tokyo will defend his title against Hinata Maruta of Kawanishi on Feb. 11 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
The 26-year-old Ryo (10W-1L-0D, 5KOs) will be making his 3rd title defense on the vacant title he won against Reiya Abe by a unanimous decision last Sept. 13, 2019.
Ryo retained his crown by knocking out Yuri Takemoto in the 6th round last Aug. 13, 2020, at Korakuen Hall.
Hinata, 23 (10W-1L-1D, 8KOs), on the other hand, had no fight last year. But he had two bouts in 2019.
He first had a unanimous decision against Coach Hiroto last May 1 then TKO’d Takenori Ohashi in the 3rd round last Sept. 26 both at Korakuen.
Hinata was the former World Boxing Council Youth World bantamweight champion in 2016-2017.
Meanwhile, Ryu Horikawa (3W-0L-1D, 1KO) will fight Yudai Shigeoka (2W-0L, 0D, 1KO) for the vacant Japanese Youth light flyweight title in the supporting bout.
