DAVAO CITY – Five Sanman fighters all scored a technical knockout against their opponents of “The Restart” boxing promotion held today at the Sanman Boxing Gym in Gen. Santos City.

Super featherweight Marlon “Nightmare” Tapales of Lanao del Norte throw some solid punches to stop Eden Sonsona of Gen. Santos City in the 46 seconds of the 2nd round in the main event.

The 28-year old Tapales downed Sonsona twice in the first round.

It was Tapales’ comeback fight since he loss to Ryosuke Iwasa of Japan by a TKO in the 11th round for the interim International Boxing Federation World super bantamweight title last Dec. 7 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, USA.

Tapales now has 34 wins with 17 knockouts against three defeats.

Meanwhile, undefeated Dave “Dobermann” Apolinario of Sarangani, bantamweight Aston “Mighty” Palicte of Bago City, featherweight Michael Casama and minimumweight Joey Canoy of Gen. Santos City also technical knockout their victims.

The 21-year old Apolinario first knockdown Bonjun Loperez of Davao City in the 1st round before finally stopping the bell in 5th round.
Apolinario now has 14 wins with nine knockouts.

Palicte, on the other hand, needed only two rounds and decided not to answer the bell for round three by the shorter Reymark Taday of Cotabato.

The 29-year old Palicte now has 27 wins with 23 knockouts against four loses and one draw.

Canoy also hurt Jovab Lucas of Sarangani with his countless punches that force Lucas not to continue fighting after the end of round three.

Canoy, 27, now has 16 wins with nine knockouts against four defeats and one draw.

It was also the same story for Casama as he threw more punches to Vergel Deguma of Gen. Santos City, who decided not to answer the bell for round two.

Casama, 20 remained undefeated with six wins all by knockout.

It was presented by Jim Claude Manangquil of the Sanman Boxing Promotion and the only second bubble boxing event in the country.
