SANMAN’S MANANQUIL IS WBC ASIA HONORARY PROMOTER OF THE YEAR 2016

Youthful Jim Claude “JC” Manangquil of Sanman Promotions will be awarded as the “World Boxing Council Asia Honorary Promoter of the Year 2016”.
The award presentation will be held during the WBC Asia/WBC Muaythai Press Conference and annual Award presentation on May 24 at the Asia Hotel in Ratchathewee in Bangkok, Thailand.
Manangquil, who is the Chief Executive Officer of the General Santos City-based Sanman Promotions was formally informed by WBC Asian Boxing Council president Pol. Gen. Kovid Bhakdibhumi.
“I am very honored to receive an award from a prestige organization like the WBC,” said the 24-year old Manangquil.
“I am truly blessed and I will continue to work hard to help and produce more champions from the Philippines,” said Manangquil, who was also recently given the Best Promoter of the Year in the prestigious 17th Gabriel “Flash” Elorde Boxing Memorial Awards and Banquet of Champions last March 25 at the Tent of the Manila Hotel.
Manangquil, who was the youngest recipient of the annual award, was also the world’s youngest boxing promoter and manager at the age of 15 in 2007.
Manangquil first formed the JM Promotions in Gensan in 2007 then later organized the Sanman Promotions together with his brother John Ray and their good friend and fellow businessman Dexter “Wang Yu” Tan of San Andres Fishing Company in 2009.
Sanman made nine promotions last year mostly in Gensan including its inaugural event in Metro Manila held at the Makati Square Boxing Arena.
Sanman had a total of seven championship fights – International Boxing Federation (one), World Boxing Council (two), World Boxing Federation (three) and Philippine titles (two).
“I want to thank God, Sanman team, fans and all my friends from the media. Sanman’s next card will be announce in couple of weeks,” said Manangquil.
