In an exciting 10-rounder match between two young, unbeaten fighters, friendly Filipino Featherweight 🇵🇭 Lienard “The Matrix” Sarcon (10-0, 6 KO’s), displayed his best fighting skills by dropping and decisioning world-ranked South Korean warrior 🇰🇷 Jong Seon Kang (15-1-2, 8 KO’s) of Gwangju on Sunday, September 4, on the campus of the Tech University of Korea in Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-ro, ROK.

With the important win, the 22-year-old Filipino southpaw from the Garden City of Davao claimed the vacant WBA Asia Featherweight regular title, absolutely the most important victory in his 5-year pro boxing career.

Sarcon performed exceedingly well in his first journey outside of his beloved Philippines, behaving relaxed and friendly during Saturday’s weigh-in; then battling with determination and power during Sunday’s fight time, rocking the 20-year-old Jong Sein Kang to the canvas during the thrilling action of round 3.

The strong Kang – ranked at the moment as world’s # 15 by the WBO – took the count from Seoul referee Kwan Ho Jang; then, clinching his fists, the South Korean weathered the storm, showing heart and skills of his own battling back till the sound of the final bell.

Official scores were 96-93 (twice) and 96-95, all in favor of Lienard “The Matrix” Sarcon, a promising young 126-pounder wanting to make his mark in pro boxing.

The winning Sarcon was guided in his fight in South Korea by experienced coach Nonoy Neri of Davao, a veteran caring man of boxing who helped Boxing King Manny Pacquiao in his memorable battles.

Sarcon couldn’t have been in better hands.

The intense “Kang vs Sarcon” battle was the main event of a 10-bout card promoted by former 2-time WBA Light Flyweight World Champion “Sonagi” Myung Woo Yuh, director of Korea’s Buffalo Promotions.

Fights were overseen by the KBA. Won Kim was the Supervisor for WBA Asia.
