DAVAO CITY – Undefeated Lienard “Triggerman” Sarcon (7W-0L, 2KOs) of Gen. Santos City goes for his 8th straight win as he fights Mark Glen Antaran of Sarangani on Feb. 27 at Bula Gym in Gen. Santos City.
The 20-year-old Sarcon did not have any fight last year. But he made three successful fights in 2019, all at Tv5 Studio in Novaliches, Quezon City
He first retired Rimon Rama of Cebu in the 4th round last May 23 then Sarcon scored a split decision over Gary Tamayo of Samar last July 8.
In the finals, Sarcon beat Aljum Pelesio of Paranaque by a majority decision last Aug. 25 to win the Ultimate Boxing Series bantamweight tournament.
Sarcon is still in the MP Boxing Gym in Davao for a quarantine.
“Ok naman po sa ensayu puspusan naman po ang ensayo (It’s ok to practice, the rehearsal is in full swing),” said Sarcon.
Sarcon added: “Sa timbang naman po wala naman pong problema (In terms of weight, there is no problem)”.
Antaran (4W-2L-3D, 3KOs), on the other hand, also had three bouts in 2019 but got no fight last year.
He first knockout Junrex Saldivia of Glan in the 1st round last Feb. 13 in Buluan. Antaran next retired Wiljan Ugbaniel of Sarangani in the 2nd round last July 11 in Malungon.
But he settled for a split draw with Joey Antonio of Cotabato last Sept. 8 in Surigao City.
